About carbon fiber prepreg
Prepreg (PREPREG) is a prepreg sheet product made by immersing a matrix in reinforcing fibers, and is an intermediate material for composite materials. Carbon fiber prepreg is a composite material made from reinforcements such as carbon fiber yarn, resin matrix, release paper and other materials through coating, hot pressing, cooling, laminating, crimping and other processes, also known as carbon fiber prepreg.
Prepreg production process
The fiber bundles are assembled into the required content and width, and then the fibers are evenly separated by the fiber frame, and the resin is heated and coated on the upper and lower release paper. The fiber and the resin-coated upper and lower release paper are introduced into the wheel at the same time. The fibers are located between the upper and lower resin-coated release paper, and the resin is evenly dispersed between the fibers by the pressure of the roller. After the fiber is impregnated with resin, it is cooled and wound up and crimped into a reel shape.
Storage and use of prepreg
Storage requirements: It must be stored in a low temperature and dry environment. The ambient humidity should be below 70%. The storage temperature is recommended to be stored in a cold storage below 0°C. Take it as soon as it is used. The unused prepreg should be sealed and placed back in the cold storage.
Storage period: 1 month@normal temperature 25℃; 6 months@0℃; 12 months@-18℃. (Medium temperature non-fast curing prepreg)
Instructions for use: It is recommended to use the environment at room temperature 20-25 ℃, humidity 40-70%.
The prepreg must be thawed at room temperature for more than 6 hours after being taken out of the cold storage.
